Yummy Night Ahead in Winchester

I'm really looking forward to my tasting at the Wykeham Arms in Winchester this evening, there are still a few tickets left if you live in the vicinity.

Nice pub, the Wykeham Arms. Called in there last year, following the completion of the South Down's Way, but found the Black Boy and the Hyde Tavern better, and both offering a far wider choice of ale.

Enjoy the beer and food matching though!

Looks like a fun evening. What came first, the menu or the beer? Or was it more a case of past knowledge to drive the pairings? I have this vision of being stuck in pairing hell having to try many different beers to get just the right one with the food. :-)
